Configure Database Mail In SQL Server Database

In this article i am going to explain how to configure database mail in SQL Server database. This is the best solution to sending email from the SQL Server database engine to SMTP servers.

 

Database mail configuration information is stored in an MSDB database. Database mail provides features like scalability, security, and reliability. MSDB tables stored the information about logging and auditing features. We can send a text message, query result, file as attachment.

Below are some step to setup database mail.

1. Expand Management and right click on Database Mail and select Configure Database Mail option.

2. Select below option to create the Database. Click Next

3. Enter the Profile name to create the database profile. Click Add.

4. Enter Account name to create the account under Database Profile. Click Ok.

5. Select the Profile and click Next.

6. Configuring system parameters click Next.

7. Complete the wizard click Next.

8. Now the database profile has successfully configured. Now i am goint to test the Database profile.

9. To check database mail we use the option Sent Test E-Mail.

10. Select Database Mail Profile to send email.

11. Now we recieved below email.
